Background of the Study
Mental health issues in Nigeria are often stigmatized, leading to delays in seeking care and inadequate treatment. Nurse-led mental health awareness programs have been identified as effective strategies to reduce stigma and promote mental health literacy. However, the specific impact of such programs at Federal Medical Centre, Sokoto, remains underexplored.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the implementation of mental health awareness initiatives, stigma surrounding mental health persists in Sokoto. There is a need to evaluate the effectiveness of nurse-led programs in mitigating this stigma and enhancing community engagement with mental health services.
Objectives of the Study
1. Assess the Impact: Evaluate the effectiveness of nurse-led mental health awareness programs in reducing stigma at Federal Medical Centre, Sokoto.
2. Identify Key Factors: Determine the factors that contribute to the success or failure of these programs.
3. Recommend Improvements: Propose strategies to enhance the effectiveness of mental health awareness initiatives.

Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study will focus on nurse-led mental health awareness programs at Federal Medical Centre, Sokoto. Limitations may include variability in community receptiveness and potential biases in self-reported data.
